Upon first installing the Speakman Anystream 2252, I have to confess to not being too thrilled about the performance of this showerhead. On most settings, the water simply rolled out of the unit with very little pressure behind it. In other words, no different from some $10 head you can buy at the local big box. But after some research online, I found out that this is due to the lousy flow restrictors they install in these (and most) showerheads these days as a water saving feature. Which I find somewhat ironic, as I've found the added pressure rinses eveything off faster, resulting in shorter showers... go figure! After removing the restrictor and reinstalling the unit, the water streamed out of this beauty just like a luxury hotel showerhead. Forty bucks well spent! I live on the coast with an outside shower for leaving the beach, typical of many beach cottages. The shower had been nice, but the various heads that had cycled through were mediocre at best, on par with the typical economy fare. Still, there is something great about an outdoor shower, given one to overlook the slight deficiencies. One day, when turning on the water, the difference in the water pressure and spray felt as if someone had opened the flood gates. Indeed, it was the thickest, meatiest, most refreshing stream of water I had experienced, more akin to a natural waterfall! I know this reads over-the-top, but the shower head moved me to actually seek out the owner who installed this on his own, just to thank him for the near total transformation. I had been struggling with low water pressure in my shower for 2 years, and while I am sensitive to the environment, we live in a place that gets ample rainfall and I do not take long showers. Further, I am 6'5", so taking a low-flow shower is alot like standing under a watering can. I wouldn't call it "refreshing." I got this showerhead and removed the restrictor with needle-nose pliers...viola!...best shower EVER! Enjoy!
