General consensus is that it performs adequately and folks rather like the versatility, but water flow can be anemic at times; fortunately the flow restrictors can be removed (there are two).Instead, it should be noted that for a showerhead costing $120+ ("stainless steel" finish) the showerhead is made almost entirely from a mid-grade plastic, not metal, even including the water diverter valve and the hose itself (yes, even the hose is plastic, it just looks like it is metal). In fact, the only metal parts on this showerhead are the ball joint, and possibly the two hose connectors. To add insult to injury, Delta didn't even bother to put the metallic finish on half of the showerhead; instead it very obviously looks like plastic, of an ugly grey color. This one fits the bill. I bought this model over the less expensive similar Delta shower heads because of the metal hose and I thought it would be sturdier. Delta also offers a lifetime warranty, so that is a plus, also. It was extremely easy to install. No tools were needed but I did buy a roll of teflon tape from the local hardware store for $1.29 which I wrapped around the threads of the shower arm pipe that comes out of the wall. A new one is included with the shower head, but I just used my old one because it seemed too difficult to get the old one out of my wall. I just hand tightened the connections and there were no leaks at all. Using this showerhead is quite simple, also. There is a lever on the outer ring and one on the inner handheld, and by changing the positions you can have water flow from both parts making it like a rainhead shower... It works great. I was concerned that there wouldn't be an even spray from all of the nozzles, but it's fine. I suppose it's more of a function of water pressure in your home. The pause button is wonderful. If you have kids that you need to hose down, this is a must-have just for this feature alone.The one downside is that it falls down very easily if bumped. There are times where I'll turn around and gently brush against the hose hanging down, and BOOM. Wand falls down to the ground and sprays everything. It's not a super-big problem. I'm a lot more careful now. I'm worried about the wand breaking or my tub chipping though. If you can see it in person before buying, try it out and see what your tolerance level is. |
